The Greater Sandy Area Chamber of Commerce officially announces a Resource Center in collaboration with Zions Business Resource Center, Salt Lake Community College and Department of Workforce Services. Members can now receive assistance with government issues, economic data, hiring incentives, employee searches, business plan assistance, wealth and loan management and market research. Recently, the chamber has hosted workshops and classes that have offered various resources to the community as part of this growing program. In support of Sandy City, the mission of the Greater Sandy Area Chamber of Commerce is to significantly and measurably contribute to the economic prosperity of its members and the community.
Jevine Lane, director of programs & business center, commented, “Many of Sandy’s residents live and work in this area. By supporting local businesses, we are supporting the community as a whole.” The resource center will help businesses in every aspect of their company, from loan management to market research to hiring assistance.
Beth Holbrook, director of Zions Business Resource Center, is in partnership with the new center. “The reason that Zions became involved in this project is that there are so many small business owners who oftentimes do not know where to turn to get answers to questions regarding their business. Many times, business owners are focused on running their businesses day to day and don’t know where to look when needing access to resources,” she said. “As a small business owner myself, I know of the obstacles small business owners face and am excited to offer advice that business owners can use to improve their operations, along with other aspect of their business. ”
Starting in January, Zions Business Resource Center is opening free mentoring to all Sandy Area Chamber of Commerce members. If you would like to contact Beth to get expert advice and assistance in building your business, contact her at email@example.com or at 801-594-8245
The Resource Center is located at the Sandy Chamber of Commerce office, providing members with a computer, books and a consultation meeting place. Coming in January, videos of each resource center class and workshop will be available for members to view online, making it possible for members never to miss a class. Past workshops have included Marketing Essentials, Contracting with the Government, Closing the Sale and Customer Service, Non-Verbal Communication and Social Media Marketing.
This program is sure to revolutionize the job description of every business owner, helping them every step of the way. The center officially opened Dec. 5 and is for Greater Sandy Area Chamber of Commerce members only.
